The short answer
A Thai visa is checked by signing in to your account on the official Thai e-Visa website, thaievisa.go.th, and opening the status tab in Manage Visa Application(s). Statuses run from Pending Payment and Pending Approval to Approved or Rejected, with Request Document or Request Interview when the embassy needs more. The approved e-Visa arrives by email.

Key takeaways
- Thailand's e-Visa is run by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at thaievisa.go.th, and status shows only inside the account that applied.
- The portal's status words include Pending Payment, Pending Approval, Pending Document Check, Request Document, Request Interview, Approved and Rejected.
- A Request Document notice is answered inside the portal, after which the status changes to Pending Document Check.
- The site's own checker tells a Bangladeshi passport holder to apply for a visa, with a tourist stay of no longer than 60 days.
- Visa fees are non-refundable, so pay only inside the official portal and only once the form is right.
A Thailand visa check today means logging in to the Thai e-Visa website, not visiting the embassy. Thailand's Ministry of Foreign Affairs runs every e-Visa application through thaievisa.go.th, and its notice says applicants no longer submit passports and supporting documents in person at the Royal Thai Embassy. This guide shows where your status appears, what each status word means, how to answer a document or interview request, and how to avoid lookalike e-Visa sites.
How do you check a Thai e-Visa status?

What does each Thai e-Visa status mean?
These are the status words in the portal's own interface text, read on 29 October 2026. The meanings follow the ministry's user guide and the site's notices; the actions are what each status asks of you.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Incomplete | The form is saved but not finished | Complete it, or delete it if you started a duplicate |
| Pending Payment | The application is complete but the fee is unpaid | Check every detail, then pay; fees are non-refundable |
| Payment Failed | The payment did not go through or was cancelled | Try again inside the portal; do not pay anyone outside it |
| Payment Exempted | No fee is due and the application has been submitted | Wait for review |
| Submitted or Processing | The embassy has the application | Wait; do not apply again |
| Pending Approval | The application is waiting for the officer's decision | Wait and watch your email |
| Request Document | The officer needs more documents | Upload the requested genuine papers through the notification |
| Pending Document Check | Your extra documents were submitted and are being checked | Wait |
| Request Interview | The embassy wants to interview you | Follow the instructions and attend as asked |
| Approved | The e-Visa has been granted | Download and print the confirmation |
| Rejected | The application was refused | Read any remarks; a new application is the only route |
| Finished | The application's processing is complete | Open it to see whether it was approved and download the document |
Answering a document or interview request
The site warns that the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General may request an interview or additional documents, and that submitting an application does not mean a visa will be granted. When a document request comes, the ministry's guide sets out the route: open the notification and choose Request Document, find the application shown in red on the Visa Management page and press View, open the Reference No. tab to see the requested documents, read the officer's remarks in red, attach the files and press Submit, then Accept & Confirm. The status then changes to Pending Document Check.
Upload exactly what the officer asked for, in the same name as on the passport. If the remark asks for a bank statement covering particular months, send that statement as the bank issued it.
Do Bangladeshis need a visa for Thailand?
Yes. The e-Visa site's Do I need a tourist visa checker, run with a Bangladeshi passport on 29 October 2026, answers with an Apply for Visa button and says a tourist visa allows a stay of no longer than 60 days, extendable with Thailand's Immigration Bureau. The site's notice adds that you can apply only while you are outside Thailand.
Agencies in Dhaka file Thai e-Visas for many travellers at once, often as group applications, and each one generates logins, payment receipts and email notices. Agencies that prepare files properly use software like Visolv to track every client's file and send status updates through the agency's own client portal and WhatsApp. It does not log in to thaievisa.go.th by itself; a caseworker reads the status in the official portal and records it, so the client sees what the embassy shows.
Problems people hit on the Thai e-Visa site
- Looking in the wrong account: if a travel agency applied, only its login shows the status. Ask for screenshots or the approved e-Visa.
- Emails in spam: approval and document requests arrive by email, so check spam and promotions folders.
- A booking number mixed up with the request number: the status tab lists applications by request number and paid date; group applications sit under one booking.
- Applying from inside Thailand: the site says you can apply only if you are not currently in Thailand.
- An unsupported browser: the ministry publishes a recommended browsers list on the site; use one of those, kept up to date, rather than a browser inside a social media app.
Fake Thai e-Visa sites and paid status checks
The only official address is thaievisa.go.th; Thai government sites end in .go.th. Sites with e-visa and Thailand in the name, adverts on the page, or a fee to check a status are not the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the embassy cannot see applications made through them.
- No official check asks for an OTP, your bank PIN or a passport photo sent over chat.
- A Facebook page that checks Thai visas for a fee cannot see inside your account.
- A visa sent as an image is not proof. The e-Visa confirmation comes from the official system to the applicant's email.
- Visa questions for Bangladesh go to the Royal Thai Embassy in Dhaka at [email protected].
After approval: print it and file the arrival card
The site says the approval email can be printed to show airlines and Thai immigration officers. Check the name, passport number, visa type and dates on it before you book anything non-refundable. Foreign visitors also file the Thailand Digital Arrival Card on the Immigration Bureau's TDAC site, which Thai embassies describe as free and submitted within the three days before arrival.
For nearby trips, our Malaysia visa check and Indian visa check guides cover those portals, and the visa check by passport number hub lists every official site. Agency owners can see how tracked files work in our visa agency software guide. Whatever anyone tells you, your Thai e-Visa status is what thaievisa.go.th shows in the applicant's account.
Frequently asked questions
How can I check my Thailand e-Visa status?
Sign in to the account that applied on thaievisa.go.th, open Manage Visa Application(s) and choose the All Status tab. Applications are listed by request number and paid date with their status; press view to see details. Requests from the embassy appear under the bell icon, and the approved e-Visa is sent by email and can be downloaded.
Can I check a Thai visa by passport number?
No. The Thai e-Visa website shows status only inside the account that filed the application, and there is no public search form. If an agency applied for you, ask it for a screenshot of the status page each time it changes, or for the approved e-Visa itself. A site offering a Thai visa check by passport number is not the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
What does Pending Approval mean on the Thai e-Visa site?
Pending Approval means the application has been submitted and paid, and is waiting for the officer's decision at the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate-General. You do not need to do anything except watch your email and the portal's notifications. If it changes to Request Document or Request Interview, the officer needs something more from you before deciding.
What should I do if my Thai e-Visa says Request Document?
Open the notification and choose Request Document, find the application shown in red, press View and open the Reference No. tab. Read the officer's remarks, attach exactly the documents requested, press Submit and then Accept & Confirm. The status changes to Pending Document Check. Send only genuine papers, issued as the bank, employer or hotel produced them.
Do Bangladeshi passport holders need a visa for Thailand?
Yes. When we ran the e-Visa site's tourist visa checker with a Bangladeshi passport on 29 October 2026, it directed us to apply for a visa and said a tourist visa allows a stay of no longer than 60 days, which can be extended with the Immigration Bureau. Applications are made online at thaievisa.go.th while you are outside Thailand.
Is the Thai e-Visa approval email enough to travel?
The e-Visa website says that once an application is approved, a confirmation email is sent that can be printed and shown to airlines and Thai immigration officers. Print it, carry it with the passport you applied with, and check that the name, passport number and dates are correct. You still need to meet entry requirements and file the arrival card.
