The short answer
A Kuwait visa is checked by signing in to the account it was filed from on the Ministry of Interior's Kuwait Visa platform, kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw, and opening Track Applications. The platform shows statuses such as New, Processing, Accepted, On Hold, Request Update and Rejected, and emails updates. There is no public lookup by passport number alone.

Key takeaways
- Kuwait's visit visas run through the Ministry of Interior's Kuwait Visa platform, and status is shown inside the applicant's or sponsor's account.
- The platform uses twelve application statuses, from New and InQueue to Accepted, Rejected and Visa Expired.
- Bangladesh is not on the platform's list of nationalities eligible for a tourist e-visa or visa on arrival.
- Family visit visas are requested by the relative who lives in Kuwait, so that relative's account holds the status.
- The older rnt.moi.gov.kw visa status page returned a not-found error when we checked on 29 October 2026.
A Kuwait visa check is not a passport-number search any more. Kuwait's Ministry of Interior (MOI) moved visit visas onto its Kuwait Visa platform, where every application belongs to an account and is tracked from inside it. This guide explains who can use the platform, how to follow an application, what each of its status words means, and how Bangladeshi workers, who mostly come on employer-sponsored visas, can confirm a visa is real.
Can you check a Kuwait visa by passport number?
Not on a public page. The Kuwait Visa platform says you track an application by logging in to your account, and that it also emails you about status changes. Its terms put the job on the applicant: applications must be submitted through the official website only, and the applicant is responsible for tracking their status. The older MOI visa status page on rnt.moi.gov.kw, which many guides still link, returned a not-found error when we opened it on 29 October 2026.
Who can use the Kuwait Visa platform?
The platform covers tourist, family visit, business visit and government visit visas. Its tourist visa instructions list the nationalities that can get an e-visa or a visa on arrival, mainly European countries plus others such as the United States, Canada, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore, and Bangladesh is not on that list. When an ineligible nationality is selected, the platform says the applicant is not eligible for an online e-visa but can apply through a Kuwaiti embassy. GCC residents in certain professions, such as doctors, engineers and managers, have their own route.
- Family visit visa: a family member residing in Kuwait submits the request, so the status sits in that relative's account.
- Business visit visa: a local company applies, with proof of the business purpose.
- Government visit visa: issued on an official invitation from a Kuwaiti government body.
- Work visas: sponsored by the employer through Kuwait's labour and interior systems, outside the visit visa platform.
Following an application step by step
- 1
Open the official platform
Type
kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw. If the page stays blank, reload it, try another browser, or switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data; we saw it load slowly from Bangladesh. - 2
Sign in to the right account
Use the account that filed the application. For a family visit visa, that is your relative in Kuwait, who signs in as a family user.
- 3
Open Track Applications
The menu item lists every application with its passport number and status.
- 4
Read the status
Match it to the table below. Request Update and Waiting for Payment need action; most others mean wait.
- 5
Watch your email
The platform sends status notifications by email, so check the inbox and spam folder of the email on the account.
- 6
Raise questions inside your account
The platform's FAQ says enquiries about visa status go to support after logging in, through the Inquiries form.
What do the Kuwait Visa statuses mean?
These twelve words are the platform's own application statuses, taken from its English interface text on 29 October 2026. The meanings and actions are our plain reading of each label and of the platform's FAQ.
| Status | What it means | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| New | The application was created and submitted | Wait for it to move |
| InQueue | It is waiting in line for review | Wait; do not file a second application for the same passport |
| Pending | It is waiting on a review step | Wait and watch your email |
| Processing | The authorities are reviewing it | Wait; the FAQ says tourist visas typically take 1 to 2 business days |
| Waiting for Payment | The visa fee is due | Pay inside the platform only |
| On Hold | Review is paused | Check messages; contact support through your account if it stays on hold |
| Request Update | The authorities need a change or more information | Update the application with correct, genuine details |
| Updated | Your update was received | Wait for review to resume |
| Accepted | The visa has been approved | Download or print it and check every detail against the passport |
| Rejected | The application was refused | Read the reason if one is given; you may apply again after fixing the problem |
| Cancelled | The application or visa was cancelled | Do not travel on it |
| Visa Expired | The visa was not used in time | A new application is needed |
Profile problems that block an application
Before a visa application can move, the applicant's profile on the platform has to be approved. The platform's own messages explain the hold-ups.
- You cannot apply for an e-visa until your profile is approved by the authorities: wait for the profile status to become Active.
- Authorities require additional updates to your profile: the profile shows Request Update; correct it with accurate details.
- There is an active request for the passport: an application already exists for that passport. Track it instead of filing again.
- Passport Expiry date is Less than 6 months: renew the passport first.
- The applicant has been banned for violating the Terms and Conditions: the platform tells you to contact customer support.
Work visas: confirm through your sponsor
Most Bangladeshis going to Kuwait go to work, and a work visa is issued to the employer or household sponsor, not filed by the worker on the visit visa platform. Sponsors use Kuwait's government systems and apps, including the MOI's own mobile app, which the Kuwait Visa platform links to. As the worker, ask the recruiting agency for the visa copy, the visa number and the sponsor's name in writing, and make sure they match your contract.
Agencies sending workers to Kuwait track sponsors, visa numbers and medical dates for dozens of people at once. Agencies that prepare files properly use software like Visolv to track every client's file and send status updates through the agency's own client portal and WhatsApp. It does not log in to Kuwait's platforms by itself; a caseworker checks the official status and records it, so the worker sees exactly what the MOI shows.
When the Kuwait check does not work
- A blank page: the platform is a heavy web app. Reload, try a different browser, or open it on a computer.
- Signed in with the wrong account: an application your relative filed is not in your account.
- No email updates: check the spam folder and that the email on the account is correct.
- A visa number that leads nowhere: ask the sponsor to confirm it in their account; a number nobody can confirm is a warning sign.
- Old guides: pages telling you to use rnt.moi.gov.kw or a passport-number search are out of date.
Kuwait visa fraud to watch for
A Kuwait work visa often passes through several middlemen before it reaches a worker in Bangladesh, and every extra hand is a chance for fraud. The Kuwait Visa platform's terms say the authorities can reject or cancel an application or visa at any time, even after issue, so a visa obtained through a broker's shortcut can disappear on arrival.
- No official Kuwaiti check costs money, and no one can sell you a status.
- Do not share your platform password, OTP or a passport photo with anyone offering to check for you.
- Treat a visa sent only as a picture as unconfirmed until the sponsor shows it in their official account or app.
For other Gulf routes, compare the Qatar visa check and the Saudi visa check, or find every official portal in the visa check by passport number hub. Agency owners can see how tracked files work in our visa agency software guide. For your own Kuwait visa, trust the MOI's account view and nothing else.
Frequently asked questions
How do I check my Kuwait visa status online?
Sign in at kuwaitvisa.moi.gov.kw with the account that filed the application and open Track Applications, which lists each application with its status. The platform also emails status updates. For a family visit visa, the relative in Kuwait who submitted the request holds the account, so ask them to check or share a screenshot of the status page.
Can I check a Kuwait visa by passport number?
Not on a public page. The Ministry of Interior's Kuwait Visa platform shows status only inside the account that applied, and the older rnt.moi.gov.kw status page returned a not-found error when we checked on 29 October 2026. Any website offering a Kuwait visa lookup by passport number alone is not the Ministry of Interior.
Can Bangladeshi citizens get a Kuwait tourist e-visa?
The platform's tourist visa instructions list the nationalities eligible for an e-visa or visa on arrival, and Bangladesh is not among them. For ineligible nationalities, the platform says to apply through a Kuwaiti embassy. Family visit visas are requested by a relative living in Kuwait, and GCC residents in certain professions have a separate route.
What does Request Update mean on the Kuwait Visa platform?
Request Update means the authorities need a change or more information before the application can continue. Open the application in your account, correct or add what is asked using accurate details and genuine documents, and submit. The status should then show Updated while the review resumes. Do not create a second application for the same passport.
What happens if my Kuwait visa application is rejected?
The platform's FAQ says it will give the reason for the rejection where possible, and that you may submit a new application after reviewing the requirements and making sure all information is accurate. Fix the actual problem before reapplying. Paying a broker to overturn a rejection does not work, because no one outside the Ministry of Interior can change it.
How do I check a Kuwait work visa from Bangladesh?
Work visas are issued to your employer or household sponsor, so the status sits in their Kuwaiti government accounts, not on a public page. Ask your recruiting agency for the visa copy, visa number and sponsor's name in writing, and ask the sponsor to confirm it in their official account or the MOI app. Never rely on a picture alone.
