The short answer
Choose a visa processing agency in Bangladesh by how it treats your papers, not by its Facebook approvals: it should read every paper, tell you plainly what is weak, show its fee and the government fee separately in writing, let you read the form before submission, and refuse to supply any ticket, statement or letter that is not genuine.

Key takeaways
- There is no official ranking of visa agencies, so judge an agency by how it handles your file, not by a list or its approval photos.
- A good agency tells you what is weak in your file before taking your money, and sometimes advises you to wait.
- Ask for the fee in writing, with the government and visa centre fees shown separately from the agency's own fee.
- Any agency that promises approval, offers a dummy ticket or offers to arrange a bank statement puts you at risk of a ban.
- You stay responsible for every answer on the form, so read it before it is submitted and sign the cover letter yourself.
Choosing a visa processing agency in Bangladesh is harder than it looks, because every agency's Facebook page shows approved visas and nobody posts the refusals. Whether you are applying for a UK, Schengen or Canada visitor visa from Dhaka, Chattogram or Sylhet, the right agency is the one that handles your papers carefully and honestly.
This guide gives you the checks to make, the red flags to walk away from, the questions to ask at the first meeting and a fair idea of what to pay. It names no agencies and ranks none.
Why is there no reliable top 10 visa agency list?
Because nobody publishes agencies' refusal rates, so any "top 10" or "best visa agency in Bangladesh" list is built on something else: advertising, search tricks or the writer's friends. The government does not rank agencies, and an agency's own approval photos show only the files that went well.
The base rates show why approvals alone mean little. In 2025, Schengen consulates refused or did not issue 54.5% of applications lodged in Bangladesh (European Commission). An agency filing hundreds of files a year will have plenty of approval photos whatever the quality of its work. What you can judge is how it treats your file.
What does a good visa agency actually do?
A good agency reads every paper you bring, checks that they agree with each other, tells you plainly what is weak and what would fix it, and refuses to supply any paper that is not genuine. It drafts the cover letter and form answers from your real papers, makes you read them, and keeps you informed until the decision.
- It asks about your job, money, family and travel history before quoting a fee, because those decide how much work the file needs.
- It points out problems early: a large deposit with no source, leave dates that do not cover the trip, an old refusal you forgot.
- It sometimes advises you to wait, for example until your salary has been paid into the account for a few more months.
- It shows you the finished application form before submission and asks you to confirm every answer.
- It tells you which papers go where, and gives your originals back.
Checks to make before you pay
Make these before any money changes hands. A good agency will not mind; an agency that does mind has answered your question.
- A real office. Visit it. A desk, a trade licence on the wall and staff who know your route matter more than a smart address.
- Registration. Travel agencies register with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism. Ask whether the agency is registered, and if not, why not.
- A named caseworker. Ask who will actually handle your file, and talk to that person.
- The fee in writing. The agency's own fee, the government visa fee and any visa centre charges, each on its own line.
- Where your papers go. How they collect your papers, who sees them, and what happens to them after the decision.
- What happens if you are refused. Ask what the agency will do, and what it charges for a second application.
Red flags: walk away if you hear these
Some promises are warning signs in themselves. If an agency says any of the following, find another one, however good its page looks.
- Talk of a certain visa or a perfect approval record. No agency decides your visa, so be wary of anyone who says it is guaranteed.
- "We will give you a ticket and hotel booking for the file." A rented or dummy ticket can be checked, and a fake booking can bring a refusal for deception.
- "We can arrange the bank statement." A statement with money that is not yours is false evidence, whoever printed it.
- "Put this money in your account for two weeks." Borrowed money placed for the visa is treated as false evidence of funds.
- "Don't mention the old refusal." Every refusal must be declared. Hiding one is deception.
- "Pay everything now, in cash, no receipt." Get a receipt for every payment, and pay the government fee to the official site.
How to choose, step by step
- 1
Shortlist three agencies
Ask people you know who filed the same visa recently. A referral from someone with your kind of file, salaried or business, is worth more than any advert.
- 2
Visit each office
Take your papers. See whether the caseworker reads them or just counts them.
- 3
Ask the same questions everywhere
Use the list below, and write down each answer so you can compare.
- 4
Compare the written fees
Line up each agency's own fee against the work it described, with government and visa centre fees shown separately.
- 5
Pick the most honest answer
Choose the agency that told you the most about your file's weak points, not the one that sounded most confident.
Questions worth asking at the first meeting:
- What do you see as the weakest part of my file, and how would you fix it?
- Who will check my papers, and will a second person review the file before submission?
- Will I see the full application form and cover letter before anything is submitted?
- How do you check that bank papers, tickets and bookings are genuine?
- What happens if I am refused, and what does a second application cost?
- How long will you keep my papers, and who can see them?
What should a visa agency charge?
For a Western visitor visa, published Dhaka agency prices for the service fee usually fall between ৳4,500 and 8,000, and reach ৳20,000 for complex files (ShareTrip, goFLY). The government fee is separate: the UK Standard Visitor visa for six months is £135 and the Schengen visa fee is €90. Check the official page before paying.
Visa centre extras are separate again and optional. VFS Global charges ৳2,000 for its UK self-upload document check (VFS Dhaka). A much cheaper agency fee often means less time on your file; a much higher one should come with a clear reason, such as a sponsor, a family file or a previous refusal.
Your part of the bargain
The agency prepares the file, but the application is yours, and so are the consequences of anything false in it. Bring only genuine papers, tell the agency about every earlier refusal from any country, read the form before it goes in and sign the cover letter yourself on the day you sign it.
Why ask what software an agency uses?
Because it tells you how carefully your papers will be checked. Agencies that use Visolv have every paper in your file read and cross-checked, get a flag when a statement, ticket or booking looks re-made, and draft your cover letter from your own papers. You see your file's progress, the papers still needed and the letter to approve in the agency's own portal, under the agency's name.
Before you choose, read the route guides for the UK and Schengen, and our warning on dummy tickets. Then choose a visa agency that uses Visolv, and ask to see how your file is checked. Our honesty promise explains what that software will and will not do.
If your visa needs an interview, as US visitor and student visas do, ask how the agency prepares you for it. A good answer is practice with your own facts and honest feedback; a bad one is a page of answers to memorize or a promise of approval. Our guide to US visa interview questions in Dhaka shows what officers actually check.
Frequently asked questions
Is there an official list of the best visa agencies in Bangladesh?
No. No government body ranks visa agencies, and agencies do not publish their refusal rates, so online lists of the best or top 10 agencies are usually adverts or guesswork. Judge an agency by how it handles your papers at the first meeting: whether it reads them, tells you what is weak and puts its fees in writing.
Can a visa agency promise that my visa will come?
No honest agency can. The decision belongs to the embassy or visa office, which decides on the papers and its own checks. An agency that promises approval, or claims a 100% record, is either careless with the truth or planning to fill your file with papers that are not genuine. Treat that promise as a reason to leave.
Do I need an agency to apply for a UK or Schengen visa?
No. You can apply yourself through the official online forms and the visa centre. Many people use an agency because the paperwork is detailed and the papers must agree with each other and with the form. If you use one, you remain responsible for every answer, so read the form and the cover letter before anything is submitted.
Should I give my original passport to a visa agency?
Only when it is needed, for example for scanning or for submission where the route requires it, and always against a written receipt with the date. Ask when it will be returned. For most self-upload routes the agency needs clear scans rather than your passport, so keep the original with you until the appointment unless there is a reason.
What should I do if an agency offers me a dummy ticket or bank paper?
Refuse it and choose another agency. A dummy ticket, an arranged statement or a letter from an employer you do not work for can bring a refusal for deception, which for the UK means a 10-year ban. Use a real flight reservation on hold or a refundable fare, and your own bank's genuine statement, even if the balance is modest.
How do I know if an agency is registered?
Ask the agency directly whether it is registered with the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism as a travel agency, and ask to see its trade licence. Rules on which visa-only businesses must register are not fully settled, so a missing registration is a question to ask rather than proof of wrongdoing. A real office and written receipts also matter.
